Important pair of rare Greek antique green marble planters with molded decoration framed by a leafy frieze in gilded bronze. They rest on two pedestals in white marble, decorated on all sides with antique green marble panels underlined with red marble fillets and ending with four gilded bronze feet.

Greek antique green marble has been a popular breccia since the Antiquity to create decorations but also objects, like this Thessaloniki antique green marble basin, dating from the 3rd-4th century AD, and exposed in the Palazzo Rospigliosi in Rome.
