Important chandelier

Gilded iron, Crystal

Height : 120 cm (47,2 in.) ; Diam. : 70 cm (27,5 in.)

Elegant « cage » shaped chandelier in the Louis XVI style in gilded iron with gold leaf and cut crystal with twelve lights. The central barrel is made of a large illuminated corolla-shaped crystal cup.

Rich ornamentation of daisies, mirzas and rosettes in crystal, that spring from the light-arms, connected with garlands of pearls. The whole is suspended by an illuminating crystal ceiling lamp lined with a hammered and gilded iron dome.


Art light creator, Baguès was founded around 1840 in Auvergne. Specialized in liturgical bronzes, the company grew at the end of the 19th century and started to make lighting bronzes, thanks to the generalization of electricity.
