Height : 73 cm (28,7 in.) ; Width : 67 cm (26,3 in.) ; Depth : 42 cm (16,5 in.)
A very fine Charles X writing table veneered with satinwood and mahogany. It is adorned with finely chiseled and gilded bronzes in the shape of flowers, vegetal arabesques and acanthus leaves. The concave top rests on a frieze drawer unveiling a writing surface covered with green leather and fitted with its inkwell and quill holder. This writing shelf can be turned into a reading shelf and hides a storage compartment. The lower part of the table presents another storage compartment. The table rests on X-shaped feet linked with a stretcher and standing on gilded bronze doe feet.
This piece of furniture is typical of the Charles X period, which favored the production of small tables and privileged the use of light wood.
